Going Wild for a Good Cause – 50,000 m² Dedicated to Biodiversity

In the summer of 2025, JKF Industri, now NEU-JKF Nordic, transformed 50,000 m² of unused land into a colourful wildflower meadow. An initiative designed to support biodiversity, bring nature closer to the local community and demonstrate that even small decisions can make a meaningful difference.

Giving nature room to grow

At NEU-JKF Nordic, we are dedicated to clean air. But our responsibility towards the environment goes beyond the solutions we develop and manufacture.

In 2025, we decided to do something different with a large piece of unused land next to our facilities in Als, Denmark.

Instead of leaving the 50,000 m² field untouched, we sowed it with a mixture of wildflowers as part of the Danish Vild med Vilje (Wild on Purpose) initiative, which encourages businesses and communities to create more space for biodiversity.

Throughout the summer, the field transformed into a colourful landscape filled with flowers, attracting bees, butterflies and other insects.

The idea was simple: Give nature more room to flourish and create better conditions for the small but essential creatures that play a vital role in our ecosystems.

02 · Biodiversity

Sharing the experience with our community

While supporting biodiversity was the main purpose of the project, we also wanted to give something back to the community that has been our home for generations.

Rather than keeping the meadow to ourselves, we created a walking path through the flowers, making the area accessible to local residents, families and anyone who wanted to experience the surroundings.

Visitors were encouraged to enjoy a walk through the colourful landscape, listen to the buzzing insects and even pick a few flowers to take home.

It was our way of turning an environmental initiative into something that could also bring joy to the people around us.

After all, we believe that being a responsible company is not just about what happens inside our facilities. It is also about contributing positively to the community we are part of.

03 · Biodiversity

Small actions can make a difference

Biodiversity is essential to healthy ecosystems, yet many insects and pollinators are under increasing pressure as natural habitats disappear.

Creating flowering areas can help provide important food sources and habitats for these species.

Our wildflower meadow was a practical example of how an industrial company can make better use of its surrounding land while contributing to a more diverse natural environment.

The project did not require complex technology or major changes to our operations. It simply required us to look at an unused piece of land and imagine what it could become.

What had previously been an ordinary field became a colourful space filled with life.

Dedicated to clean air – and the environment around us

At NEU-JKF Nordic, our everyday work focuses on creating cleaner, safer and healthier industrial environments through effective extraction and filtration solutions.

The Vild med Vilje project reflects the same commitment to making a positive difference, but from a different perspective.

It demonstrates that environmental responsibility can take many forms, from developing industrial solutions that improve air quality to making room for nature in our own surroundings.

For us, the summer of 2025 was a reminder that sometimes, creating something meaningful starts with something as simple as planting a flower.
